Lately...

We have sent most all of the Christmas Cards...

Switched flowers from summer to fall, and now winter..

And have been toying with some painting items on the porch. And getting the Dallas house all gussied up for December.

Gosh! Just like all the others this month is flying by!

 Have you had your fix of all things pumpkin yet? 

 We have had one or two nights where all the fans in our home have not had to
run which means throw blankets and yummy smelling candles
are now totally called for. This past weekend we pitched what was
left of our summer flowers to the trash and planted mums to add
a touch of fall to our front porch. Above are some festive ideas
for giving your home the warm vibes you will soon be longing for.

   Well I was supposed to work today, but I got put on call so I am unsure of what to do with the day! At my last job we never had enough staff to be on call! Brad and I finished our couple devotional book we have been going through since last fall, and are now storming the internet and book stores for new ideas! Since starting the search we have really enjoyed Andy Stanley, Matt Chandler, and David Platt especially Secret Church! God uses these men to reach so many people! I love that people everywhere can pull up there messages any time of the day.

    And I started some shopping for the holidays this week and came across the 

  Cow Tent!! I wanted to buy it, but could not think of any reason I could justify our need for it! 😝

Fall Travels

 Brad's travels have finally begun! Last week he visited Jackson, Mississippi and Charlottesville, Virginia. I was able to go on the Virginia trip, which I was excited about having never been there before!

I have not had a real fall break since college so I was thrilled to get to come along for the interview!

 We drove all night after work Tuesday and arrived in Charlottesville at 9am. We walked along the cities downtown area and the local college UVA. While neither of us are crazy about moving to another college town this one seems to be much more low key about football ect.

      Dave Matthews is from Charlottesville and comes to play here every year

 The buildings were all beautiful and did I mention the beautiful fall foilage we were do delighted to enjoy? We crashed at he hotel about 3pm and napped until Brad's Dinner. The applicants and residents were all friendly, but most were from New Jersey and other more north eastern states. We laughed at how they talked about being "so far down" south 😜! Gotta love the south! 

  The next day while Brad interviewed I visited some local shops and a Bed Bath and Beyond I had spotted the day before. For lunch we had Zin Burger which had cows everywhere (front door, wall paper...it was perfect!).

  Before heading home we ventured up a local mountain for apple picking and house gawking. Can Thomas Jefferson be my new man crush?! A man who can farm and build! (Swooning). We loved our trip and had a wonderful time exploring the city together!

  And when we returned home I was pleasantly suprised to find the geraniums had gone wild! Which called for a home made bouquet. Yes! Our target stemless wineglasses serve as vases around here.

And as we move closer to making decisions about residency we pray for God's guidance.

Pumpkins in the Fall

  My parents came to visit on their off days this week. Trey needed some paperwork for school, so we all met for dinner in town.

I couldn't be happier to be this bobcats daughter! Our month keeps moving and pretty soon interviews will begin! 

Our pumpkin has been purchased and we have set a carving date with some of Brad's school friends! Fall fun is the best! Our apartment smells like cinnamon apples after yesterday's baking session. And I do love cinnamon!

Hometown Visit

    It's already the second week of October can you believe it?! This year has flown by, and pretty soon it will be coat wearing weather! 

         

 Last weekend was beautiful! There was not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was perfect. Brad and I made the trip to Enterprise and enjoyed time with his family....and some cute cow creatures as well! 

     

Out hometown team didn't win, but we enjoyed the intensity of the last few minutes of the football game anyway. 

   

Trips down memory lane are fun, but we always leave feeling blessed to go back to our new home together!
