Christmas in Dixie: A holiday review

I was very excited to make the trip home for Brad's post Christmas break!

We visited with both of our families and one of my good friends Sabrina.

We enjoyed catching up and making Match predictions as her husband will 

be having match day in March just like Brad last year.

Of course! In other coffee cup news The Tide won the first round

or the football playoffs while we were home. Making for a very Happy 

New Year's Eve for Brad. That puppy by the coffee cup is Miller! 

My brother Trey got the cutest puppy for Christmas this year.

They are getting married in May!

While home our cousin Gina was so kind and passed on 

an awesome Pottery Barn coffee table and mirror, which she

had in storage and was done using! I love the addition to 

our room and am so excited and thankful for her gift!

Two Years

Tomorrow Brad and I will have been married 

for two years! I am still such an excited newlywed and feel

so blessed by God's constant deliverance of love and grace through

Brad.Neither of us could have made it one day without The Lord's

work on our hearts. 

Have I mentioned how much I dislike going to our couples class

alone? I am truly fine with our busy work life until I arrive

to the couples class alone and have to give another account as to

why Brad can't make it to Sunday School. I so

respect the sweet man I get to call my husband and don't know 

how he tolerates all the long hours at the hospital, but its just how life is for now.

When our I'm sure well meaning friends stare at me with shock when I

say, "Well he only gets every fourth day off." and, "We have had the 

same day off once this month." I leave feeling so alone in our big city.

Cleaning Out and Moving On

The time is drawing closer. Our match list is almost due, and I have just
finished looking at some apartments in the cities we are thinking
 most about ranking. Yikes the rent is is more than we
are paying now… for about 1/2 the sq ft-age. Prayer, prayer, prayer. 

  I know this is the spoiled brat post and there are
 people in the world who would love to have the problems we will

soon meet. Our God sure knows how to address the
 issues we try to hide in our lives. I  tell myself I am not materialistic
 and then I am asked to dump 1/2 of our apartment and possessions

and move from our home state.

Hey Jesus you got me! I love my stuff…My
God is mighty to save. And though it will not be much fun.
Giving away stuff will teach us what is most important. 

Souls! Father that is what your after and that
 should be our priority. So I praise his name and ask him

to continue to shine his light on the dark and yucky
areas of my heart. Where I need to do some soul 

cleaning and letting go. 

Hometown Visit

    It's already the second week of October can you believe it?! This year has flown by, and pretty soon it will be coat wearing weather! 

         

 Last weekend was beautiful! There was not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was perfect. Brad and I made the trip to Enterprise and enjoyed time with his family....and some cute cow creatures as well! 

     

Out hometown team didn't win, but we enjoyed the intensity of the last few minutes of the football game anyway. 

   

Trips down memory lane are fun, but we always leave feeling blessed to go back to our new home together! 

More Interviews and Family Dinner

Brad keeps receiving interview offers (almost daily now). We are thankful and excited! The thought of moving away is a positive one. We are looking forward to the adventure of it all.

                       

  Fall is in the air and we were sure blessed by a car full of family who stopped by yesterday afternoon for a weeknight dinner! My grandmother, parents, and brothers came and ate with us. It was like Christmas since we hadn't seen each other all at once in a good while! We went and walked downtown and went to dinner afterwards! 

   The one thing I will miss moving far away is getting to enjoy our families so often! More soon. God bless.
