Spooky Holiday Spirits

Halloween is tomorrow so I am sharing a yummy sipper from KLG and Hoda

with The Today Show! These two ladies garnished their drink with a creepy

crawler frozen in their ice cubes!. Super fun idea! Happy Halloween!

Halloween Smash Cocktail

Ingredients:

• 2 ounces vodka

• 2 ounces fresh-squeezed clementine juice

• 1 slice clementine peel 

• 1 ounce simple syrup

• orange seltzer

Preparation:

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the vodka, clementine juice and simple syrup. Shake until your shaker has a frosty coating on the outside, indicating your cocktail is nice and chilly. Rub the clementine peel around the edge of a glass filled with spider ice, then discard peel.

Strain the cocktail into the glass, top with a splash of seltzer and clink.

Homemade Halloween: The Costume

Have you gotten your halloween act together yet? 

Most years I put off getting a costume until the 

last minute and change my mind 12 times in the Halloween store

before leaving empty handed determined not to spend

 $50 on a costume for a two hour party. I then decide

I am to cool to wear some a costume any way ( lol),  and about 30 min 

before the party I make the executive decision to go as myself.

Yes I know that is just no fun! So below are a couple of examples 

of how to put together a last minute Halloween outfit using almost only what you 

already have in your closet (minus a mask and some feathers...)!

60% off recently ad I am swooning!

  Erin Gregory's work always catches my eye!

 All of her paintings
make me smile with her bright colors and beautiful bouquets.

We are due for around six inches of rain here in Dallas over
the next couple of days and i'll probably be reviewing this post
for a little sunshine!

Warming Trend

Gosh! Just like all the others this month is flying by!

 Have you had your fix of all things pumpkin yet? 

 We have had one or two nights where all the fans in our home have not had to
run which means throw blankets and yummy smelling candles
are now totally called for. This past weekend we pitched what was
left of our summer flowers to the trash and planted mums to add
a touch of fall to our front porch. Above are some festive ideas
for giving your home the warm vibes you will soon be longing for.

Neutral Vibes

No I do not have children, but I enjoy being able to play house
on my off days and Polyvore is a great spot to get all your creative kicks.
So here is to day dreaming and
pretty spaces even if it is just in cyber space.

I love the idea of gender neutral nurseries! So fun right?!

The above photo was put together with those couples in mind who
are brave enough to wait until due day to find out what they will be having.
Brad (my husband) has never seemed to understand what all the
fuss is about with baby gender..."It will either be one or the other." He always
says. That may be because he has not experienced it yet, but anyway.
I put all the neutral items to the left of the design.
These items would stay regardless of gender and could be
complete before heading to the hospital as the couple prepares for
delivery day!

 To the right are fun touches that would be
added following delivery and the couple could enjoy the process
with their new little one in their arms. So wether its
cowboy boots or ballet slippers looking into your little ones eyes for the
first time will be a delight, and I think it would be fun to complete
the nursery decor after meeting them post delivery.

Handkerchiefs

I never thought much of handkerchiefs, but I have

several memories of my sweet grandaddy using them and 

having them at church and always having one in his pocket. Then

one of my friends gave me one as a bridesmaids gift. It had sweet 

lace around the edges and my initials on it. I placed it in my bible and

it has caught several happy and sad tears while worshipping on Sundays. 

While looking on Lands End at their holiday merchandise I saw

monogrammed handkerchiefs for a pretty reasonable price, and I thought 

this would be a neat way to continue the hanky tradition with my brothers, as I 

am sure they share the memories of Grandaddy and his hanky.

This Love

Because it's Sunday praise our redeeming and risen Savior!

 Every Sunday is redemption Sunday we have so much to celebrate! 

Who doesn't need an everyday kind of love? God gives freely. 

You need only believe.

Note: When I listen I minimize the window and do something else it makes for

Woodworking Saturday

Today we got out the power tools and with the help of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas our Sunday School class built some super cute littles a sweet playground on their apartment grounds.

Brad and I have loved our church family so much they are all about fostering community and teaching out to lots of Texans in need. Brad was at work today,

but I practiced my power tool skills and built a pic nic table with my small group! 

 

They look pretty great right?! The construction continued after our "shift" but I know the kids will be thrilled after the play ground is complete! Below is a picture of the whole group: 

Podcast Playlist

Im late to the podcast party, but In the last few months I

have so enjoyed using podcast stations while I clean, cook, 

and go to the gym! There are so many good ones out there,

however I had to do some filtering and listened to 

some that were well uninteresting but...

Texas State Fair

This weekend we met Big Tex and rubbed elbows

with lots of proud Texans (All Texans are proud of their 

state). The Texas state fair is in full swing and Brad was 

off for an entire weekend! Here is a little bit of out weekend:

Inspirations

Happy Friday! We are looking

forward to another weekend with amazing 

weather here in North Texas! Last weekend was 

so nice weather wise. Here is the product of

sometime outdoors. Oh and the Hozier

Pandora station of course! 

On Sundays

Sundays are pretty routine around the Bonham house.

(The house we live in is on Bonham.) After church I

come home and iron, maybe nap, and of course hit the gym.

Days when Brad is at the hospital seem to drag on in the evening 

so after talking to most of my family members on the phone I resolve to 

experimenting in the kitchen. Last week it was a homemade

Pumpkin Spice Latte, and pumpkin cupcakes with cream 

cheese icing on the menu. Also because Brad doesn't like 

sweets I also made his favorite chicken parmasean.

Pumpkin Picking

We ventured to the Dallas Farmers Market last week

and picked our fall porch pumpkins. There were so many 

different colors I swooned over the green and blue ones!

In other news fall has come and I have
