Busy Holiday

Hey yall! I know... what is her excuse this time? I have been
out of school and have still failed to blog on a consistent
basis. Well I am no longer out of school anymore, and the summer
semester has got me back in the reading sanity
break reading routine. But lets back track and
day dream for a brief moment.

Chloe came to visit! Miss my old cheer-leading friend!

Brad turned 23 last Saturday. Crazy! And thankfully I was able to
visit him last  year I was in Las Vegas and Brad was taking the
M-cat the day after his birthday. No big celebration there. This
time we spent the day watching movies, working
out, playing well (as well as I could) basketball, and
We went out to eat to at  Mugshots.

 John and Sabrina came too!

Monday it was back to school Oncology, informatics, and gerontology! Oh My!

And by the time I made it back to Enterpise I was greated by
a huge pile of mail  and my little pup with her
wagging tail! I have to say she warmed my heart!

Nana and I had our baking day again this week so far I have
mastered the pound cake, zucchini bread, and a double
choclate cake! Look out Betty Crocker here I come! Not!

So what is on your agenda for memorial day!? With any luck I will
be laying out by our swimming pool and reading (productivity is key
 to relaxation during nursing school).

Pool Please

Hello summer come back please I want
some quality Pool Time!

Therapeutic Dominos

Every time I make it home I try to visit my grandparents
they live about an hour from my home so it is
pretty convenient. On my most recent trip they introduced
me to their latest hobby. They have started visiting a local
senior citizen center and the friends they have made there
play Mexican Train . This is a version of Dominos. We
spent hours playing this game and enjoying each others
company.

This is good for them because my granddad was
diagnosed with an idiopathic lung disorder.
He has to have oxygen at all times and gets tired
more easily then he used to. He has been part
of a research study  and taking new medications
however, he has recently gotten more
sick and has been referred to Duke University Hospital.

Here he will be evaluated for a lung transplant. They are
both anxious about the evaluation process and are in
need of prayer during this challenging time!

Scoliosis

While cleaning out my desk during my down time before
starting the summer semester I came across an old
x-ray taken during 9th grade. I cheered and competed in
gymnastics throughout my childhood. During those years
I often experienced severe back pain and fatigue.

During a routine school exam I was told I had Scoliosis
this was in 5th grade. The pain didn't start until I was
older as the pain continued I saw doctors and was referred
to a specialist in Birmingham. I was fitted for a back brace
and wore it most nights. It was uncomfortable, but I didn't
have to wear it very long.

Scoloiosis is the curving of the spine away from the midline.
It is more common in girls and worsens during growth spurts.

Today the pain is gone but I am self conscious about my
shoulders which are not as uneven as the photo above but
there is a visible difference. The cause of this abnormality
is unknown but my brother has a much milder form as well.

Happy Mothers Day

Yes, this is a belated post I just uploaded some
photos from my phone. My parents are working in
Arizona so my brother and I visited my grandmother
on Mother's Day.  We ate at Tabby D's...
Oh No!  A southern buffet!

Like always we didn't leave empty handed.
These swoozie's cookies are so yummy!

Artwork

My uncle the artist.

My uncle and his family lives in Destin Florida. They take full
advantage of the outdoor opportunities on the coast. One day
after catching some fish he placed one of them on a piece of
scrap wood and painted these fish from the outline. Pretty
neat right??

Summer

So far I have very much enjoyed my summer vacation.
I have not done much to speak of mostly stayed by the
pool and played with my pup Molly. Brad was home
for the first weekend, but he had to go back to T-town
for a  May class. And only a few of my friends are coming
home for the summer.

Yesterday when I woke up I went outside to feed Molly
breakfast and let her roam a little while.  I noticed
a baby snake in our pool! Yuck! My heart rate hit the
roof and I didn't know what to do. I went in the garage
and found some of my brother's old work boots and
then grabbed a hoe.

I was so nervous. I watched it for a
moment before taking my first attempt at killing the horrible
thing. Yes, I know some snakes are not poisonous but I
can't tell the difference and I'd rather not have any around.
I missed the first time and ran in the other direction. It must have
been a funny sight now that I think about it. The whole time I
was praying out loud. Ha! The snake swam away but then came
back to the steps. The second time was a success and I got rid
of the thing as soon as I calmed down. Meanwhile Molly was
uninterested in the fact that my life was in danger!! She was
running through the sprinklers and trying to get a baseball from
off the garage shelf. Talk about a guard dog.

Dog Days

That is right dog days are of pharmacology are Over!!!
Hooray! I am off for two full weeks no studying or
stressing thank you Lord! Hello summer. Hello Swimming
pool. Hello Hello Tan!

I will be going home tomorrow for a much needed break
before beginning summer semester. I officially only have
1 year left of school. Yay!

On another note it has been a long time since i have
been able to update on life so here are a few things I
will be posting on over the break.

Brad finished at Bama a couple of weeks ago so
he will be living even closer next year!

Easter was wonderful my parents came home
from AZ for two weeks so the whole family
got together at my great grandmothers home
and celebrated and ate (of course) under the pecan
trees in her yard.

April means tornado season and since
I have a special place in my heart for the
survivors I have been thinking about them alot
lately.

Finals have been super stress provoking
and I can't wait to spend a good amount
of my summer in Enterprise!
