Lake Christmas

This year my parents moved to the lake, and they will be celebrating their this morning!
Brad and I are in Texas for the holiday and I am dreaming of a lake side Christmas!
Here are a few essentials For Christmas Morning gift opening sessions! I can see it now!
A great Pine Tree under the covered porch with warm pjs and of course shoes due to
the outdoor location! Warm coffee and a comfy chair and blankets to keep warm while
reminiscing over christmas pasts and a camera to document the holiday hoopla
and gift exchange which is always a fun time! We will gratefully get to visit the lake next week and
i'll share pics with you then! Until then Merry Christmas! Love has come this day we
celebrate! Love is here and he will come again! Love to you all!

Trim the Tree
Trim the Tree by lindsey-smith-peden featuring holiday decor
If your like my mom you just put your tree up this past weekend!
As time runs out for all things "Commercially Christmas"
here are a few tools to enhance your tree trimming get together!
As the scent of evergreen fills your home add a little more freshness with
a lovely rose bouquet! A colorful tree has my heart singing this year
add some colorful spheres to the tree instead of just the traditional
red and green.
With untangling strings of lights from years past you are
sure to need a little wine while you decorate this season! Due to budgeting
restraints we decided to forgo the tree skirt this year, but the burlap one with
fancy tassels my have been the one I chose had we sprung for one! A multi
colored rug is a fun way to offset all the colorful christmas decor on your tree. And
who could forget the glittery snowflakes, because Lord knows
it doesn't look like it will be a white
Christmas around here!

Advent
The season of advent is a joyous one and it began on Sunday. As we experience longing all year long for something greater than what this earth as to offer, for justice, and for peace; we come to this season and our answers come from Jesus. The baby who played in a manger and carried the cross in exchange for our salvation and deliverance from sin. What joy he brings to all who believe! In the darkness of winter when we are broken, lonely, and carry our guilt so heavy we are invited to celebrate advent. Below are a couple of fun additions to your Christmas decorations this year.
A fun advent wreath invites us to share the story of our saviors birth during the holidays. The evergreens speak of the hope that we have in God, the hope of the newness, of renewal, of eternal life.

In past years I have been stuck to burlap and neutral
tones for our tree, but this year I was more in the jewel
toned mood and love these fun colors against the evergreen

We have entered a season of giving and a season of thanks!
God has surely blessed us again this year with health,
family, and new friends! As you prepare to host your family
get togethers and bake your holiday meals make a
a list not of things to get from the grocery store, but of the
good gifts our heavenly father has brought to us this year.

Warming Trend
Warm Vibes by lindsey-smith-peden featuring Crate and Barrel
Gosh! Just like all the others this month is flying by!
run which means throw blankets and yummy smelling candles
are now totally called for. This past weekend we pitched what was
left of our summer flowers to the trash and planted mums to add
a touch of fall to our front porch. Above are some festive ideas
for giving your home the warm vibes you will soon be longing for.

Neutral Vibes
Neutral Vibes by lindsey-smith-peden featuring pink throw pillows
No I do not have children, but I enjoy being able to play house
on my off days and Polyvore is a great spot to get all your creative kicks.
So here is to day dreaming and
pretty spaces even if it is just in cyber space.
The above photo was put together with those couples in mind who
are brave enough to wait until due day to find out what they will be having.
Brad (my husband) has never seemed to understand what all the
fuss is about with baby gender..."It will either be one or the other." He always
says. That may be because he has not experienced it yet, but anyway.
I put all the neutral items to the left of the design.
These items would stay regardless of gender and could be
complete before heading to the hospital as the couple prepares for
delivery day!
To the right are fun touches that would be
added following delivery and the couple could enjoy the process
with their new little one in their arms. So wether its
cowboy boots or ballet slippers looking into your little ones eyes for the
first time will be a delight, and I think it would be fun to complete
the nursery decor after meeting them post delivery.
