Coffee
For Valentine's Day I got a new french press,
which I love! But you have to have a coffee
grinder to use it. I bought a cheap one at Walmart,
but it didn't work. So now I am trolling for coffee grinders:
Blogger? No Archiver!
I have come to the conclusion that my day to day life
is less colorful than I would prefer at the moment, but while
I have few events to chat about. I will document
what inspires me. And now and again I may throw in
a couple of life events as well!
A panel of nurse manegers came and talked to us
on Friday about rehearsing why we wanted to be nurses.
I want my nursing experience to be a career more than anything,
but there are so many other interests I have. I am excited
to start nursing, but I am also excited to start learning
some other things as well.

Wedding Dreaming
Happy Presidents Day! And happy no clinical day!!
To celebrate I am catching up on paper work, sending
emails about job applying tips, and doing NCLEX
practice questions all day!
I am not a good pinterest person. I will save pictures
to my computer, and then by the time I remeber to
share/save them on my blog I totally have forgotten the source.

TBICU
My time in TBI is about half way over and I can truly say
God is brilliant, almighty, all powerful, and truly the
maker and taker of life. I have seen so much on this unit
and so far I have left everyday saying Thank you! Thank you
Lord for protecting me EVERYday.
The nurses on this unit are special! They are managers of
of care. They are comforters of families during times of crisis,
and they know their stuff! LOVE IT!
There are many details I could squeeze in this post, but
HIPPA stuff makes me nervous. So I 'll save that for a journal
at home! These days the details and plans I have for myself
are few. There are only a couple of things I am sure of past May
2012, and those are...well okay I don't have any plans past MAY.
Ahhhh!!

Every Friday at class our instructors tell us how tough the
nursing market is for getting jobs right now, so I go from
being excited to graduate to being scared out of my mind!
In three months I will be....um God what job will I have?
Where will I be living? How will I be paying back my loans?
All I know is I am in his hands and that is the safest place
I could be. It is lesson learning time, and I am moving toward
May with the assurance that every detail will be worked out
in time. Thank you Lord for you blessed assurance.

I Heart You
Valentine's Day was fun this year Brad was unusually
enthusiastic and started the morning off with a Happy
Valentine's Day text. Ha. I am glad school isn't very
intense at the moment so we got to see each other on a
week night!
We made a pizza and split it in half my side had tomatoes,
bell pepper, onions, and turkey pepperonis...his had pepperoni,
sausage, and bacon bits. We are so opposite on what we like to eat!
I got him a slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory
on Sunday and brought to him Tuesday. He likes strawberry best
To funny considering all the different flavors they offer.

Food Chain
Morning coffee and a teaching clinical is how my
Valentines morning began! Today we got to go to an
elementary school and teach some sixth graders about
how a healthy diet is an important factor in preventing
chronic disease such as Heart Dx and Diabetes.
I have to say I really enjoyed getting to go and teach this
age group they are so young and full of life. Every student
seemed eager to learn, and they were receptive to the
new dietary information we presented them with.
Here is a little food for thought that I learned while
preparing for today: A 20oz bottle of Mountain Dew
has 77grams of sugar in it, or 16.8 Teaspoons of sugar.
Crazy Right?!
My new Pandora Station is Eric Hutchinson...his voice
is so dreamy and I start taping a random body part
every time I listen to his music. I get to see my valentine
later today. Hope everyone has a great holiday!
Health Promotion
Health Promotion? What does that mean? For the longest time
medicine has been what we do with you after you get sick.
This semester I am enjoying the world of health promotion so
very much! And this is a good time to explore the field with everyone
being health conscious after the new year!
Some of our community clinicals have been at the neatest places.
And I love the nurses I have met in these settings. They all take
their own advice and I have met some real gym enthusiasts.
These chicks get paid to tell people to walk more and eat less fast food.
Yes that is my dream job!!
One of the clinicals we have visited is downtown... on the north
side. aka A whole different world. The clinic is for the medically
under served, but many people just go because all the health care is
completely free. Any way I had never been this far downtown
and it is really a pretty nice place! Here are some pictures from our
Health Smart visit.
