Be an Encourager

Today's sermon at church was on being an encourager. If you think about it a word of encouragement really is the most welcome word there is. We all need to be built up. However, It is our human nature to tear others down and build ourselves up. But i want to try to improve in this area i want to be a person who brings blessings to other people. Barnabas in the bible was a great encourager. In fact his name means son of encouragement. Here are some characteristics of encourages:

- encourages root for the "under dog"
- encourages don't look at peoples past they look at what their future could be
- they focus on the potential not the problems
- they are load lifters people who give words of concern, give a few minutes of their time, give a simple touch on the shoulder, give hope....

So this week it is my goal to ask the question: How can i be a blessing to someone else? and in the process build a bridge of love...God's love.
