Hello all i am now officially
done with my first semester at
UAB(only 5 more to go)! I have
nothing to do for about ten days,
thankfully so my mission is to
find some sort of stress
management hobby. At our
first nursing school meeting the
advisors mentioned this task several
times. Apparently after AUG.17 my
will be about nothing but nursing
school for the next two years.
But in the mean time i am needing
to find a few ways to keep my
sanity. Here are a few things
I've found.
Exercise- when you are stressed
your body create extra energy as
part of the fight-or-flight response
running,weight lifting, or just going
for a walk can get rid of some of the
extra energy and help you better handle
the task at hand.
Creative Outlets-i have seen this
under many of the searches as a way
to manage stress; this may include
painting,cooking,dancing,sculpting,
drawing, or photography.
Treating yourself well- One
article i read said treat yourself
like a friend;reward yourself for
even small accomplishments.
Set aside relaxation time;
a hot Bath
enjoy a cup of Coffee
Connect with other;call a Friend
Do something you enjoy
everyday;go for a Bike ride
Keep your sense of humor
Also attitude is very important:
-Don't think negatively about yourself
each time you do your body reacts with stress
-Stay positive and try to keep your
problems in perspective
-Don't try to control the uncontrollable
-Learn to forgive
-Get plenty of rest
