One of my birthday presents was going
to New Orleans last weekend Mom, Brad,
Trey, and I headed to Birmingham on Friday
to catch the train to NOLA. However, we
got the times mixed up and missed the train
in B-ham so we drove to Tuscaloosa and thankfully
caught the train there!
The train ride was fun more leg room then
a plane and you didn't have to stop for bathroom
breaks. But the food was terrible if i go again
i will definitely bring my own food. We got to
the Hotel on Bourbon and it was decorated so
beautifully for Christmas. We unpacked walked
out on the balcony over looking bourbon and
then went to dinner. We walked down Bourbon
street and saw some people from home the Troy
game was the same weekend so that was neat.
All and all the trip was fun there were many
really nice parts of the city and alot of poor and
sad parts. We saw a man get beat up by a bouncer
and the cops run in on big horses to take
him to Jail. My favorite part was probably watching
the street performers singing and dance dancing
in the street. The French Market was neat and it
seemed like everyone who was from the area
either painted or played music. So neat.
