This week has been pretty low key work wise so far.
Probably because my clinicals are on Saturday and Sunday
this week. I was so happy to make a quick trip home last weekend.
It is so comforting to see my family. It just like and unspoken
even unrealized need is met by being home.
I got back and causght up on some school assignments, and
then realized I only have 70 days left in my undergrad journey!
Okay so while I am supre pumped this isn't as enjoyable as I
had imagined. Mostly due to the stress of not having a job lined up
on top of the larger than life NCLEX hanging over my
head.
I called an old clinical instructor and mentioned I had not heard
anything from the applications I had submitted at UAB and
she suggested applying other places. My stomach dropped a bit.
Hmm....other places I had just always assumed I would work
there. I havnt really thought about moving aways or working at other
hospitals. I have done all of my clinicals there except one.
So I put on my big girl pants and applied to other places even
in Enterprise. I meet with the UAB nurse recruiter next week. Please
pray the interview goes well, and that she can help me find
a job that fits my skills and talents. I have nothing against going
home, but I really want to be exposed to as much as possible to
grow and develop as a new nurse.
Most of all pray that no matter the outcome I will be able to say,
"Lord your will be done," and move forward to the next trial.
Today is the 5 year mark of the March 1st tornado in my home
town. I miss my cheer buddies often, and have a picture
of them in my dorm room. They were special boys and
some of my best friends in cheerleading!
This year I am thanking God for using this situation to
show me personally that we are not promised a long life,
but a full life through him who provides our every need
and sustains us throughevery hour wether happiness or
trials are present.
Brad sent me this text yeaterday! He is going to be on the
big screen at the Alabama Theater for skit night at his school.
I am excited to visit the theater again. It is really beautiful.
It is almost swim season! At my last clinical at health smart the
nurse shared some great nutrition tips so I am trying these
out and seeing if I get any new results....
