Volunteer Hours

This past Friday i started volunteering at Flower Hospital. In order to apply at UAB you have to have at least 60 hrs. of volunteer work in a health care setting. I had to get up at five to be at the hospital and start volunteering at 6:30. My dad works at Flowers so it has been really good to have him around and show me where to go. I worked for 6:30-1 on Friday. Then i had to come back to Enterprise for work from 3:30-5:30. Then Brad was home! So we watched "The Proposal" then it was straight to bed for me because i had to get up at 5 again on Saturday and volunteered from 6:30 till 3. I got a total of 15 hours this weekend which is a pretty good start. I worked in the SICU (surgical intensive care unit). It was a very eye opening experience and i have to say i handled "the gross stuff" better then i thought!
